Change of email requires new account login information.
I changed my email address for Genesis and it requires that I set a temporary password then log on with that and then change to my password which cannot be the former password and must continue to meet the requirements of length, variation of symbols and so on. Then it also requires change to Genesis owners page login as well.
First clue was sign in on phone said [token expires] failure.
This is similar to a few other personal and financial sites where I have changed my email recently.
