  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

HI,
I have a v6 w/Tech package, the phone when paired works great. when someone calls me, the stereo mutes and the phone rings. LOUDLY and SHRILLY (sp?) does anyone know how to tone down the ringer, or change it or something, it about gives me a heart attack each time.

I have read through the DIS and it doesn't seem to mention it.

thanks

I agree, I wish you could set a default volume, this always scares my passengers when the phone rings in. (sometimes I warn people in advance)

I used to have trouble hearing people (especially on highways) and I finally figured out that I needed to adjust the volume on my phone itself. (I discovered I could change the bluetooth volume on the phone itself while I was on the phone in the car.) So maybe something can be set on the phone for incoming ring volume.

Oh I just went out and played with it and if you just adjust the volume on the steering wheel while the call is ringing in, that will change the ring in volume, and it seems to remember the volume. That makes sense, I should have tried that before.

That seems to have done the trick. should be in the manual, or at least more obvious. Thanks!!

SWEEETT! Thanks bluegreen;) I took your advice right after reading your post and it worked. I'd LOVE to be able to change the ring tone, but... having it where I'm not having to peel the passengers off the ceiling... it's a good thing. I had actually thought of this a few weeks ago and then forgot to try changing the volume while it was ringing until you wrote your solution.

See, THIS is why this fourum exists!!

Excellent discovery. I have been looking for that for a week or so. Thanks!
