  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone experienced the same problem I had in changing wipers? I think there was an engineering mistake on the wiper arms, they will not raise with the hood closed or open

I noticed the same issue but have learned to just lift the arm slightly and swap them out. I've never tried opening the hood.

That's the way I do it.

1. Before shutting off engine move wiper switch on the lever into single wiping position (MIST) position.
2. Turn off engine.
3. Push lever upward and hold it until wipers swing into upright position on the windshield.

I also attached picture of the page from the manual.

Mine is parked in the garage so I done have to deal with that. Now I got home to 4 inches of frozen snow on the car parked at the hangar on the 15th of December and snapped the antenna fin right off because my hands were freezing and then made a three-foot crack in the windshield from a couple of existing stone chips.

I tried shutting it down while the arm was up and they returned to position. I’ll give your way a shot tomorrow. Thanks

I think what AS007 is sharing is "logic", vehicle off and hold the wiper arm on the column in the "Mist" setting and the wiper arms will rise. Mine always stow when I shut the vehicle down as well.

You guys got it little bit wrong.

1. While engine is running put the lever into MIST (intermittent) position (one click down). Lever clicks and stays there, no need to hold the lever.
2. Keep the lever in MIST position and turn engine off.
3. Push lever all the way up to a stop and hold it until wipers swing into upright position.
4. Release the lever.

That's it.

The manual picture has the arrow in the "up" position. Will now have to try this.

I just re-read the manual and I think I am the one that confused you guys and I apologize for that. I mixed up MIST and Intermittent positions.

MIST - you push lever UP to a stop and release it and lever goes back to the OFF position (MIST position is not fixed) and wipers do a single swing.
Intermittent - you push lever down one click and lever stays there (fixed position) and then you adjust interval of the swing with the ring on the lever.

And after re-reading that page in the manual I think you just need to do two things:

1. Turn off the engine
2. Push lever up into MIST position and hold it until wipers swing into upright position (service position) and stop there, and then let the lever go to the off position.

And I think you don't need to put lever into Intermittent position like I was doing to put wipers into service position.

No worries and will def try it. Thank you.
