  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'd like to replace the pained trim on the door bottoms (2013 sedan) with the chrome items I've seen on ebay. I've read that it's a simple job but when I look at the ebay picture it appears to show plastic clips but also what appear to be hex head nuts on some of the fasteners. Help? TIA

Did it on my previous Genesis. Most quick and simple job ever. There are clips on the chrome pieces, but they just snap in. The old ones come out when painted trim is removed.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Please post the eBay link you are referring to. Let's see if it's the right product. There shouldn't be any nuts or bolts in there, just the removable clips. The correct product also includes 3M tape premounted on the new trim pieces.

If you do succeed in buying the correct item, installation is simple. I used a soft plastic pancake flipper to pry off the painted trim. That's the only step that requires brain engagement. Don't stick anything in there that will scratch the door paint! The new trim snaps in easily. Job done!

Thanks! My 2013 Gennie is Twilight Blue Pearl. Not very computer literate so here's what I can offer: hanikimi (3107) on ebay stores. Lots of items offered. Best year end wishes to all.
