  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need some advice on cleaning the grille and trim. I’ve tried a few polishes and nothing seems to have much effect at all.

Those look like hard water stains. I'd recommend a stronger pre-wash foam like CARPRO Descale. It's a little pricey but effective.

The chrome trim around the windows of my 2023 CPO G70 3.3 was no longer chrome. It had lost all shine. I took it to Genesis in Sarasota for the first time. After all the stories about Genesis dealers on the forum, I wasn't sure what to expect.

It was a terrific experience. Ryan, the RA looked at the trim and said he had a guy in Tuesdays and Fridays who could fix it. Well, I took it in yesterday and 2.5 hours later, the chrome trim looked like new! Ryan then handed me the invoice, with zeros where the price is supposed to be. Looks like I found my go to service department.

So they did not remove the dark tinted coating? All polish jobs I have seen on our window trim to remove staining certainly removes the stain but now you have a bright polish look and the tinted coating is gone so trim no longer matches the other parts of the car. Maybe the 2023‘s no longer have dark tinted chrome parts?

Good question. I don't actually know. When I got the car, that trim looked like unfinished metal. No color, no shine. The chrome now at least has shine and looks good. I'll have to find another gray one and check out the trim. Though from what I've read, the chrome in any color is problematic and will wear badly again. again. Sounds like a design error. I think I'd rather live with the chrome rather than having the trim replaced with any kind of frequency.
