  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just replaced my battery in my 2009 4.6 Genesis Sedan, I plugged the clear tube into the aftermarket battery the exact same way the stock one is. Clear tube into positive side of battery and the other negative side of the battery is an open hole. (the battery came with a plug and a 90 degree insert for the tube) Should I be plugging the other side or are all these batteries the same!? I am worried my car is going to ignite!

I am bringing it to the dealer tomorrow because the battery light is on and I get the "don't use multi media when the car is not running to prevent battery discharge" message so I will ask them tomorrow but I hope it is being vented correctly as I have about 40 minutes of driving later tonight.

Plug the hole, it's open so the battery can vent on either side depending on how it's mounted.
