  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've noticed a click/tick sound coming from my front suspension/wheel area when turning at low speeds. I have to have the windows down to hear it. It is a single click sound but can happen for the left or the right side (front). Happens when turning at low speeds and/or going slowly over a speed bump. The best way I can describe it is the sound made when you cut your fingernails with fingernail clippers. Anyone know what that could be or experienced the same sound? My buddy has a 2011 3.8 and his does the same thing. He said the dealer said not to worry about it. I am unable to reproduce the sound by rocking the car so I'm going to check it out when I replace the rotors soon. It doesn't sound too disturbing but I'd prefer to fix it. 2012 R-Spec

I hadn't considered that. I'm no longer under warranty so I'll just remove the hood and only drive in the daytime.

I hear the same thing from time to time. Not sure what it is from but don't think it is a problem. Also don't know if I had this sound before installing my air ride but pretty sure it was there.

Suggestions:

1. Remove wheel(s), clean rotor/wheel contact surfaces with a wire brush. Apply anti-seize and re-torque wheel lugs to spec.

2. Check and retorque all steering linkages and control arms.

My 13' R-Spec makes the same noise. Generally I will hear this tick when I first start the car, roll the windows down, let the hot Cali air out, and then turn the wheel.

It does this once or twice during the turn and then I never hear it again.

I know the sound though for sure, definitely clipping nails.
