If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My car is 3.8 AWD, 2015. I bought 3month ago. I run 5K mile now.
When I drive 25-30ML/H, I can heard strange clicking sound in rear bottom part from 3K mile.
I have been dealer shop several times, Then can not solve it still now.
I searched on Internet blog. someone told me that noise come from 4WD Motor, someone propeller shaft or drive shaft. But they say this problem occurred
again after replaced these part.
I can heard well in the morning before engene heated.
I uploaded on YouTube to explain.

Does anybody figure out these problem?

thank you.

Someone on here had a similar issue and got the local Hyundai rep involved and they ended up replacing the engine altogether. In may not be the same issue but I would raise it up a level past your dealer to the local Hyundai rep for sure. It doesn't sound normal.

Hey,

I seem to have the same problem too. I can hear the same noise at similar speed before the engine heats up.

I saw your YouTube video and I have the same issue.

Did you figure it out??

Thank you,

Hello,

Was your problem solved?

What's the status? I'm still facing the same issue.

If you could share with me your VIN number, I could speak to our dealer here to criss check what has been done to speed up the fix for my car, and I'll let you know what happens with me as well.

Have the same problem. No idea what it is. As usual, the dealer is clueless and they could not reproduce the sound. Any updates?

I hear it some times in my car and its gone after first maintenance

I heared it today i turned my car off for over 2 days and im hearing it today

i will see in the morning and i will inform you all

So has anyone figured out what's causing the noise? Doesn't seem right Hyundai would have designed the car with such a noise being normal. Even though the sound goes away after driving a while, it just makes me think something is broken or about to break.

No, it's a cold start problem so I'd likely have to leave it with them overnight, or all day. Either way, the last time they came back and said they could not reproduce.

Thought I'd paste what I had posted on another forum:

This is oddly like having to visit my dentist because of a toothache. I tell him which of my teeth hurt and how it hurts. He says he can't feel it. I ask him why not check to see if I have a cavity. He says that’s a great idea! Unfortunately, he’s kind of busy right now so I’ll have to leave my tooth overnight so he can check it in the morning.

Other owners have apparently been experiencing the same issue so the dealers should definitely know what's up by now. Anyways, hoping someone is eventually able to find out what's causing this noise. Then we can tell our service techs how to fix our teeth.

I have the same problem too. Purchased November 2015, noise started last month.

I have a 2015 3.8 AWD with 12000 miles and I have the same clicking noise at low speed after cold start. The noise goes away after the car warms up.

Exactly same here. But when the car is serviced with Engine Oil change, the sound/noise goes away for a couple of weeks then it comes back!

the sound is probably a bolt or a bearing bolt somewhere related to the differential or the shaft somewhere.. but when I took my car to the dealer, they were not able to reproduce the noise. I will try again.

Thank you,

Sounds weird.... I'm glad to read this thread saying exactly same as what is going on my genne.

2015 3.8 RWD 20,000miles.

The noise started 6 months after I purchased on Feb 2015, but dealer didn't try hard to figure out what is source of the noise. They treated me a fool. Northwest Houston(290) Texas dealer..... terrible service.

I almost give up fixing it and let another 20 months go and return it when leasing ends. I was exited to drive one of Hyundai vehicles but would have no choice other than back to Jap's or European.....unless Hyundai take this issue seriously and provide reasonable solution in timely manner.....but low expectation.

Hope somebody shall figure it out.....

Take it to your local dealer to have them inspect this noise.
If this noise is something that you can record with your phone please do so.
I had rattling noise from my new genesis but unfortunately dealer wasn't able to hear this problem, no loaner was provided to me so I called Hyundai to assist me with this matter.
once hyundai gets involved, they talk to service manager, and dispatch one of their engineers to inspect your car. It took 2 weeks to have engineer show up my dealer.
It's all repaired now.

y pcvious MB E320 diesel made a similar noise at startup and for a few files afterward. It's caused by the direct injection and is a common diesel issue. Since the Genny has direct injection, maybe it's just injector noise.

I have this same problem and have had it into the dealer twice. They were able to replicate it, but diagnosed it as the passenger seat needing a new floor rail, which they replaced. Guess what? It didn't fix anything. Seems pretty obvious to me the sound is coming from the drivetrain.
