  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good Morning. We have a 2011 Sedan, and recently had an aftermarket command start installed. Since then, we have had issues. It goes back to the installer in 2 days, but I wanted to check here to see if anyone else was experiencing any of these, try to rule out anything other than the installer being at fault.

The climate control fan constantly runs on high, even with the off button pushed. The temperature settings also constantly switch back to farenheit.

Front/rear parking sensors work intermittently. Depends on whether or not you use the command start.

Drivers seat - if you start it with the command start, when you shut the car off with the ignition button, the seat moves all the way forward and pins you (my wife... it's her car) to the steering wheel.

I know what you're going to say - un-install the command start. I agree, but...

I have never heard of Command Start. Is that dealer only?
From my installation experience, all aftermarket, not dealer installed, alarms/remote start combos are very good compared to dealer or factory.
I have a pet peeve. I HATE it that some American made cars come as option to remote start. I see people at store standing LITERALLY 2 feet and it is not hot or cold outside, the HORN honks and the car starts. WHOOOPY...
I have been installing remote start DEI alarms since the 90s.
I have had the most luck with Excalibur Alarms and remote starts. Very good company to deal with. Technical support is great also.
DEI, they run you through the ringer and all of their alarms are under one umbrella.

Do yourself a favor, go to a Custom Audio shop and let them do it.
