  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anybody done a cold air intake system on their 2012 5.0 R-Spec and got definitively improved performance. I have installed an x-pipe with Borla exhaust and the car sounds amazing, but I am always interested in waking more power out of the Tau. Whatever can help make more horsepower or a of interest to me.
Thanks so much

Most cold air intakes on the market are trash for this particular car. There are two things you can do. One of them is to remove the two flaps in the airbox and add a KN panel filter. The other is replacing the stock airbox with a 4 inch cone filter while preserving the stock intake tube, I highly recommend getting a heat shield if you're going with this option.

Ali,
Thanks so much for the great information

remove the "flaps" in the 2 air boxes to get max airflow from the stock system. I did this a while ago and tested the air temperature inside the air box with and without the flaps.
the stock system is about maxed out as is
