  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know this is very subjective and I am impressed by almost all the color selections for the Genesis. I have been taking my time deciding which to get because I keep a car for a long time. I want to get a 5.0 Ultimate. My past several cars have been black (usually with a black interior) and I know I have a bias for that. I have seen several of the colors now in real life.

I had really been thinking of getting the Montecito blue. It is a beautiful color and much more rare in my parts than the other colors. I think that it looks more executive than sporty (and I want a sporty look) so I have shifted back to the black exterior. To me all the gray colors also look very executive. The white and red are sporty but are not my style. So, now that I am back to black I have been looking at interior colors. I really like ivory but am worried about it staying clean. The beige also looks nice and I like the wood color in the beige version. I always like a black interior (but have had that in several cars). However, I have really been impressed with the gray interior. The wood color looks great in that version and the pin striping is less pronounced (just my preference).

So now after looking a several options I think that my hope is to get a black with the gray interior. I haven't seen that combination together around me (it is usually black on black or black on beige). Have any one else seen the black with gray?

I like the black interior on this car because it is more of a charcoal than a jet black.

The light color interiors are striking, but I worry about how that holds up longer term. I've had dark gray leather interiors that have looked good for eight years of ownership.

I know what you mean about the black interior being more of a dark gray. I do like that and that may well be what I choose. The gray interior is also pretty dark and is almost a taupe color. I think it will hold up well and it coordinates really well with the wood. That said I may get the black as it seems to be easier to find and it will hold up well.

I'd go black with ivory; I find it striking! When I get my 2nd gen next year, I'm leaning towards white, but if I go with black, that's the combo I'm getting. I too have had several black cars but I usually go the other route (black/tan or beige). I'm a bit tired of that combo now, but you can't argue with how good it looks when it's clean.

You folks forgot about Ibiza Blue with the Ivory interior. I got mine about 1 month ago. Ibizas in Southern California are the most rare. Board member r_spec posted a pic of his car here and I was hooked. Never thought in a million years I would buy that color combo.

My runner up choice was White with a gray interior. The white may be the best looking G of them all imho.

There is an Ibiza blue 3.8 at my local dealer. It does look really sharp but it feel too young for me. If I were 20 years younger it would be high on the list. I think the red falls into the same category for me. I guess I am too set in my ways but it looks like black will be my color. I do agree that white may be the best looking color of all but I think I like black best followed closely by Montecito blue (just my preference).

I agree. The Ibiza blue is used in many ads and pictures for good reason - it is stunning, photographs well and does show the cars new lines. It can however come to close the florescent blue used by the Subaru WRX and may wear as too flashy for a luxury sedan over time. As much as I prefer black and have previously had mostly black cars, it does not highlight the "fluidic" lines of this car. That has me looking more closely at Montecito Blue, as it may show the lines better and also is dark enough to complement the car as a premium sedan.

I have the Montecito Blue with a gray interior. This combination looks very classy. Beige interior is very common.

I have the Montecito Blue as well. This color is awesome. Depending on the lighting conditions it sometimes looks gray. Mine has the Beige interior and at the time I bought it, it was the only one in the state of Florida with that color combination. Great car, Great color...:)

Be forewarned that the '15 black paint job looks like somebody dropped a bag of glitter on it. Take a look at one in the sun. My car has a metallic paint color, but the sparkle is much more subtle.

Personally I did not like it in the direct sun light. Too psychedelic for me with all those glitter colours going on. They call this mica as opposed to metallic. Strange thing is the Montecito blue which I have is also mica but it does not show up as strange as it does on the black.
