  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know what proof/documentation is required when taking this rebate if you are not trading in? I have a vehicle that qualifies but want to sell it myself to get the most money out of if but also want the rebate since I will still be leaving a competitor(Infiniti) to switch to Hyundai.

Dealer will make a copy of Infiniti's registration to put into your file to allow you to qualify for rebate. It is very easy.

I was told by several dealers that everyone gets it-no matter what. In fact-the rebate was built into their price! I asked that if I didn't meet the criteria for the rebates- would they charge me $1500 more. Obviously not!

your car has to be on their list of "qualify cars" to get it, after that they will need the registration, make a copy, and that's it.

I'm currently leasing 2008 Infinity M35, and I know this car qualifies for rebate.
I have 2 more months till the end of lease and planning to sell it (either trade-in or private party) before lease ends, since market value is higher than my buy-out option (excellent condition and low mileage).
I wouldn't want to use purchase option at the end of the lease because I'll have to pay about $1300 sales tax.
So, since I'm leasing, do I still qualify for rebate?
Or I must have a title in my name?

I'm in a similar situation, my lease on my G35 ends in a month. If anyone knows the answer, let us know. Otherwise I will speak to one of the dealers tomorrow here in Houston.

If you agree on the trade-in price that the Hyundai dealer offers, he will call for the payoff number. You either write him a check for that, or roll it into the Hyundai lease. Either way, they've purchased the car not you. At least that's how it worked with my Genesis that had 2 payments to go when I traded for the Equus.

Does the registration has to be in my name?
I want to know because my brother who is living with me has infiniti g35 and I definitely know he won't let me trade in his car for $1500 rebate.:p
If nobody answers, I will be looking at buying it in 3 months or so. I could keep it updated

My dealer just told me that you qualify if you have a vehicle registered in your name that is anything other than a Hyundai.

And for those who already drive a Hyundai... isn't there a "Hyundai Owner Loyalty" discount, for the same amount?

:)

If thats a case, it will all be good. But I have thought it was somehow different depending on the dealers, no?
However if this is right, the only people who can't get qualified is kids who never had a car in his name:p

not at the hyundai dealer I've been to.

they have a list of "qualified" cars. Your car has to be on that list to get the rebate.
