  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I thought a few weeks ago Hyundai might use the Olympics as the introductory vehicle for the Genesis. Sure enough, after which was arguably the most watched Olympic event in a long while [Phelp's 8th Gold], if not ever, Hyundai rolls out the introductory Genesis Ad. VERY COOL.:) Either they got 200mil people watching in amazement, or a somewhat smaller viewership because 100mil were out taking a leak.:D
Either way, a great ad with huge viewership worldwide. I think the dealers will have no problem with their August quotas from now on.

Was it this one? If so, I was hoping for something more. This isn't much of a change from Hyundai's commercials for their other vehicles.

"It's here...Think about it"

Hope that means the V8:D

I saw the TV teaser ad right after Phelps got his 8th gold. Great placement! Seems that the Hyundai folks can only afford one ad for every major sporting blockbuster event....

Sure caught my attention!

Does this mean the V8's are on the way???

Well, considering they're showing a base model V6 in the commercila (you can tell by the wheels), I wouldn't take this as a hint that the V8s should be arriving any day now.

New Korean Genesis ad for reference:

I much prefer the Korean ad which really highlights the surface detailing/lines of the car. It kind of reminds me of old Lexus ads.

I'm sorry, but seeing the Genesis driving through a series of small puddles on the passenger side of the car with the same voice-over used in basically all of Hyundai's other t.v. ads isn't "special" enough for the Genesis IMO.

maybe they'll use the Korean version here with a different voiceover obviously

That must have been a very expensive ad.. However, I haven't seen traffic go up here.. That indicates to me that people are not on the internet searching for the Hyundai Genesis any more than they were previously...

I think the marketing campaign is still in very early stages. They are just trying to build awareness when there is a large audience (Superbowl, Olympic peak moment etc). In S. Korea this car is already accepted, in the US it is more like a BMW versus Hyundai??!? Did I hear that right?... Just think about it.... If someone could come up with an idea that would drive traffic to just test drive the car they would be deserving of a free prize!

Was fully expecting a full color print ad in the Sunday paper this morning. Would have been a nice upper cut to follow the stiff jab last night for a 1-2 knockout.

I think the official campaign is still set for September 1st...
