  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

New owner here, car purchased Wednesday 11/2/22.

So I’m having a minor issue with the Genesis Intelligent Assistat App. I am unable to do any remote “things”. Like inquire on charging status, get vehicle GPS location, remote vehicle status, Remote lock/unlock/start. None of this works.

Also the remote “Take a picture of the car surroundings“ doesn’t work either. Really just being able to see charge status is the most useful to me and being able to remotely start/stop charging.

The car is connected via the sim, as I can see an IMEI number, and I can also see wireless signal strength, also the car does show weather forecasts and I seem to be able to get traffic info. But I just can’t seem to “push” from the phone to the car.

Has anybody else had this issue?

Thanks
Rob

Firstly my experience with with Hyundai or Genesis app/remote service for the past 3 years is they are kind of on the garbage side as far reliability regardless of the onboard cell modem's signal strength. In your case it sounds like you don't have the appropriate permission to access their servers. I would first do a hard reboot of the infotainment unit. Then I would double check that your dealer registered your car correctly, then contact customer service and if that fails you need to get your service department to verify the infotainment modem is functional.

FYI, you can either disconnect/reconnect your negative 12V battery lead for hard reboot or the following instructions

Thanks for the helpful reply!

I did the hard reboot at the instruction of customer services, but at that time my IMEI strangely was reading all 000-000-000-000, which I had NOT seen before. Either way that issue resolved it’s self, eventually, so I now have a real IMEI again and weather etc has started working again. But still any PUSH to the car fails from the app.

The app does update status if I open/close a door, I assume it communicates directly with the car when this happens, or maybe that prompts the car to send an update to the cloud? No idea.
