  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am a new owner of a 2012 Genesis w/ Premium & Tech packages. I am attempting to connect my wife's iPod (settings display says version 5.1.1) using just the USB cable; I have a Hyundai-specific USB/power cable on order. I would expect just the USB cable to work, but after scanning the device, the car's display says "USB Device Not Supported". How do I get the car to accept & recognize the iPod?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
What model?

Not all models are supported.
supported models are:
Mini
ipod 4th-6th generation
nano 1st-4th gen
touch 1st-2nd gen

Hmmm, appears wife's iPod is an iTouch Gen 3; not supported. Would a software update be available to let us use this device??

I don't think so.

I loaded most of my music to the hard drive.

Much easier than messing around with my MP3 player.

I cannot find any documentation about a "hard drive" to store music. Is that available on my 2012 model?

With the Tech package, and the DIS controller, you should have the "Juke Box", which is a hard drive that can hold 20,000+ songs.
You'll need a USB stick, or a compatible MP3 player to play and transfer the music to the Juke Box.

I will check for documentation about Juke Box, but have not seen anything about it for a 2012 model. However, we got the Hyundai-specific iPod cable today, and my wife's iPod now works great with control through the auto stereo controls!!

I am having exactly the same problem trying to connect my iPod nano to my 2012 Genesis. Where did you buy the Hyundai- specific iPod cable?

@sdgrant , I would like to know this info as well.
