If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Before I got my R-Spec, I had heard good things about Corsa as a completely drone-free performance muffler. Not interested in adding a lot of hp or torque or messing with intake system - just more satisfing sound. I'm talking about a simple muffler bolt on to the existing plumbing. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this?

I do, but not with Corsa:) Don't recall seeing a drone-free muffler from them, but I haven't been paying attention either. Of course the Dynomax VT mufflers are a valve type, which eliminates drone, but there are a few people on the internet saying there muffler valves broke and they rattle like a SOB.

You have a link for a specific Corsa product?

Something like this is what I had in mind, although I realize there will be some custom work needed.

I had a Corsa Sport cat back system on my 2008 C6 Corvette. Nice tone and little to no drone.

Corsa makes a good product

To bump an older thread.

I'm planning on getting 2 Dynomax VT mufflers put on the Genesis next spring. I've watched enough video's on youtube and have come to the conclusion that the VT's are still a descent volume, but do rid the drone. I really like the volume of my exhaust right now (MagnaFlow) it's perfect. Nice purr when at idle vs the whisper quiet OEM exhaust.

I researched Corsa trying to find a fitment for our rear mufflers. Talked to Corsa engineer who discouraged fitting any muffler not designated by Corsa for a particular auto. He said that each Corsa muffler/system is uniquely designed.

But I wonder? Seems to me that Corsa designs mufflers to cancel noise at a certain frequency, which frequency may be common to all exhaust drone. But then, maybe not. I guess someone out there will try a Corsa adaptation, and I hope they share their experiences.

In my exhaust thread, I discuss that I took the Dynomax VT to my exhaust shop to see if they could fit the center inlet/offset outlet. They couldn't get it to fit on my 2012.

I ended up doing a resonator delete (keeping stock mufflers), which gives me good sound until hard acceleration (raspy!). I bought 2 12" glasspacks over the weekend and will install them this week to see if I can kill the rasp while keeping the sound.

I will check what my MagnaFlow mufflers are for the inlet and outlet to verify fitment of the VT's, but also measure the MagnaFlows to compare with VT sizes. Shouldn't be an issue for a pre 2012. Worst case senairo, I would order the MagnaFlow catback system if for some reason the VT's won't work. At least I'd have the whole system and my exhaust wouldn't be so "hacked" as it is now.
