  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,
Genesis 5.0 , 2015, 116K miles. Has been running good. Very few problems, always change the oil when its time.
I started the car up yesterday and it ran very rough. I was just backing it out of the garage, then parked the rest of the day. When I moved it again the check engine indicator light came on, but the car ran fine and has since completed about 50 miles today with no issues.
The codes read today are P0300 (unidentifiable misfire) and U0109, "ECM lost communication with the fuel pump controller" (paraphrased).
So... maybe something loose, or a fuel pump controller module going bad, not sure.
Any ideas?

I've had similar issue with my vehicle 3 times in the 5.5 years I've owned it, also a 2015 5.0. It would be during backing up slowly or once it was driving below 20mph and while slowly accelerating from a stop. It seemed to clear up shortly after continuing driving or stopping, turning off the car and then driving again. The events were significant amount of time in between the occurrences. the first time it was under warranty and the dealer replaced an injector or something related under warranty.

The 2 other times it happened I cleared the codes and it didn't return.
