  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If you had about $45,000 to spend would you prefer a CPO LS 460 or an Equus? That should get you a 2010 Lexus or a somewhat later model Equus.

Tough call....but maybe easier if you see the ebay 2012 Equus Ultimate with 4600 miles for $47,995 in Birmingham, AL. Granite Gray with black interior. Great deal. Per auction website, he paid $46500 plus fees for it.
I'm not connected with this dealer, but they're only 90 miles from me and I would have bought his car if I hadn't found mine a couple months earlier.

Hard to tell what the depreciation will be on the 2010 LS460 versus the 2012 Equus.

I'd probably go with the Equus again.....

Hands down, Equus!! For one thing, Lexus is VERY expensive come service and secondly why buy a used car when you can get a branf new, better warranty and overall better car (IMHO). Drive them both for more than 10 minutes. You will see.

I haven't read about the high cost to fix (replace) air suspension as a reason not to buy a car with air on this board. Air suspension will eventually fail (in about 4-10 years) and it's been reported by many Lexus LS owners that replacing each corner can cost ~$1500. Unlike the traditional strut, if the air fails, that corner can get very very high or low. You pretty much have to get it fixed. If one only keeps the car for a few years it doesn't matter. If you buy an LS CPO, you can choose not to get air (air is an optional equipment on LS460) but not so with Equus. Just a thought.
