  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I push the start button today and noticed that the clock was winding to the correct time, which was unusual since it normally kept time even when the car is off. Upon further inspection, I saw hairline cracks developing all around the edges (photo attached). Anyone experience this? How much of a pain is it to replace under the 60k warranty?

In the picture it looks more like a protective film that was never removed. Have you tried peeling it off?

I wish it was that simple. I see the cracks going into the glass but there seems to be a plastic sheet underneath the glass, and I can move the air pockets very slightly when I rub my finger against the glass. Doesn't seem to be a protective film on top of the glass.

It's not a big deal but and if it's something that requires the whole dashboard to come off, I might not even bother getting it fixed if it doesn't get worse, but something tells me the cracks will only grow.

Maybe moisture got behind the clock causing de-lamination of the plastic? I'd take it to the dealer for replacement.

I'm not sure about the cracks, but my clock has reset upon starting the car about 3 times. Apparently it stops when the car is shut off, and then winds to the correct time.

Just an update on this. Dealer took a look and agreed to replace this under warranty.
