  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealer picked up last week and brought back saying there was no problem.

Not sure I like this car

Ugh. Join the club. Many of us have that. Mine (2019) only does it when it's hot out (80s and above). Mine is passenger side only, near the top of the A pillar.
There is a thread on this, with some people having tried to fix it.

Mine does it when its cooler. Live in AZ, below 80 degrees. Coming from the front drivers side.

Mine clicks a little too but on your video it sounds much louder and more constant that what I observe. Mine is bearable but yours might be tough to live with.

Wow is this a prevalent issue? Is there a thread documenting it?

That sound would annoy the crap out of me...

Yes, there is a least one thread about it in the G70 section of the forum. Just do a search.
From what I can tell, after reading dozens and dozens of posts over a couple of years, there seems to be two different complaints.
Some people have an annoying rattle, which I don't think is temperature dependent and may change if you open the sunroof.
Other people, like myself, have what is best described as a crackling sound (like a plastic water bottle). This seems to occur, at least in some cases, only when it's hot outside and doesn't change when you open the roof. The most common problem area is near the passenger grab handle, at the top of the passenger A pillar. It sounds like an adhesive is getting soft and letting go in the heat.

I had a similar issue. Damn near the same sound albeit it didn’t seem quite as loud. However it only clicked like that around +20 Celsius or hotter. Drove me nuts regardless. Brought to dealer and they found 2 headliner clips right above the mirror there were broken. They replaced the clips and I never had a noise since.

I have 2023 G70 3.3t sport prestige and so far no noise. However, purchased around October so has not been very warm. Live in Kentucky

Genesis build quality isn't as good as I originally thought.

Agreed. My 2022 SP has quite a few QC issues with paint and wavy under panel on front bumper (drivers side). The car drives phenomenal and I love it but the fit and finish is nowhere near luxury level (German or Japanese)
