  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2020 G70 and the windshield gives a crazed appearance as if sand blasted also referred to as sparkling at dusk and dawn. I’ve cleaned it numerous times to no avail. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem. I think it is in the laminate film and only shows when the sun shines at a very specific angle. If anyone else has this problem let me know.

My guess is that it’s on the inside of your windshield and that it’s tiny bits from your deteriorating microfiber rags. Clean a small area without using microfiber rags and let us know.

Welcome. Moved to the G70 section.

Some people recommend cleaning glass with a waffle weave microfiber to avoid lint and other junk. Personally, when cleaning the inside of the windshield (a pain in the ass in the best of times), use some good old-fashioned newspaper coupled with windex and some elbow grease. Then I might use a microfiber to clean up any remaining crud.

Many folks have aftermarket tint on windows. NO AMMONIA ALLOWED.

I bought a 5" squeegie just for this very problem. Windshield stays cleaner longer

I know exactly the sand blasted look you are taking about as mine has it too. The car is brand new so I'm not sure why it has that look.

What is this mythical newspaper thing you mention? Is that like Instagram?
