  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Creaking sound coming from suspension?

Hello everyone,

I have this weird creaking sound coming from the driver's side, and rear passenger side when I let the brake pedal go from a standstill (coasting). I only hear it at low speeds, mainly around town cruising with the windows down. If I pick up speed, the sound is gone (probably the wind noise and my exhaust muffled it).

The sound is probably coming from the suspension, but I want to check with you guys first before taking it to the dealer. I'm sure they'll blame the Ark springs. Anyone have similar issues? Both modded and un-modded genny owners? Thanks.

I don't have any of those noises on my car, either when I was lowered on GT-S springs or now on GT-F.

The only creaking I hear is from my sunroof when I have to hit dips and inclines at an angle.

Ok thanks guys, guess it's just me then. Probably take it to the dealer this weekend.

They're gonna punish you for those springs! Good luck man

If I were you, I would check for any loose bolts in your suspension, before you go to the dealer.

As Reggie said - they'll blame on lowered springs, I am pretty sure.

When I went to BTR to put on a new F springs on front, he didn't bother to torque lug nuts to correct specs, the left wheel started wobbling @~40mph when I turned the steering wheel hard right or left. Terrible service....I'll never deal with them again.

Thanks for the advice Dareck and Reggie, I'm going to have my boy take a look at it this weekend. Who knows, if I blew a strut then I guess coilovers are coming haha!

@dareck - sorry BTR screwed you like that. It's like no one knows how our car operates, eesh!

Let me know what coilovers you get

Coilovers? what coilovers?! did I miss something again? :D :D

I have the ARK GT-Fs and I have a mild thunk on the fronts over just about any surface irregularity at more than 10mph and the springs creak if I compress them fast enough (ie one of those huge sloping speed bumps at 5-10 mph.) I'm hoping to have them checked out next week. The front spring pads don't look like they're seated correctly, but I can't compress the springs on the car to try to adjust the pads so the struts are going to have to come back out again.

Dudes. https://youtu.be/mUvoSXwnAws That is a video of my 2015 Genesis 5.0 w 9k miles ... It makes noises like that at low speed and it is loud enough that it can be heard from 20 feet away easy. I liked this car but it was at the dealer for a week and they "said they couldn't recreate it", which is insane because I showed it to the service person before I dropped it off. Anyways anyone know what this is?? The rear wheel is in video and I just lightly push car forward while its parked and it gives the noise similar to what it makes driving... Any help is greatly apprecited

that sounds like a parking brake shoe that needs adjustment.
