  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got back from a 260 mile round trip. I've noticed that when the cruise is engaged on flat highway, the cruise control makes "micro-adjustments" to the speed, which result in a very very slight jerkiness as it maintains the speed. I can replicate the feeling in sports mode with foot, by making tiny adjustments. This happens when no other cars are around. Has anyone else noticed this?

Shamelessly bumping this.

2.0T or 3.3T?

Nothing I’ve ever noticed, SCC only I haven’t used regular

It's a 3.3T sport. I should have mentioned it.

Hmmm.... I've never noticed this. Cruise control has always seemed really smooth on mine. I always use cruise control whenever I'm in eco mode. Which driving mode are you in when you notice this? I wonder if it happens if you're in sport mode or something...

I've noticed that cruise is jerky when it's slowing down at low speeds (~20mph and slower), but not at higher speeds. It feels like the system brakes late as it is largely concerned with keeping the appropriate distance from the car in front.

I used cruise for most of my 1100 miles back from Michigan and noticed a little myself when not directly around other traffic. After playing around, I mostly attributed it to the lane assist, which I had in std mode. When I turned off the assist and just used the vibration setting, the whole car felt like it drove smoother. With it on it feels like there are little minor interventions going on all the time. Not sure if lane assist is talking with the throttle, to the drivetrain or if the minor adjustments to the steering make it feel like the cruise is fluctuating but it just felt better to me.

Unfortunately, on a long drive like that, the driver attention warning (coffee cup) comes up after an hour when your not using the active setting. "You've been driving for 60 minutes, you might want to take a break" or something similar comes up on the info screen. Very annoying. I drove for 9 hours and didn't see that once on the previous day using the active setting.

I've had it pop up three times in 18 months. First time I only drove about 10 miles, no traffic, probably did not move my head in the early morning trip. One time though when it popped up, I did stop and took a quick break after some hours behind the wheel. That time is probably was a good idea to heed the advice.

Have you tried adjusting the SCC sensitivity? I found "fast" to be a little too jerky.

Some Stinger owners have noticed the same issue with the cruise control that I am having. They have a long thread about it, but no solution yet. One guy hooked up a reader to his ODBC port and recorded the throttle variations which cause the "surge".

I use mine daily on the Interstate (in 3 months I'm now past 6k) and I've noticed the SCC can adjust more abruptly due to much slowly traffic or someone crossing into my lane when I think back to other Genesis cars I've had. Not sure if it's because of the Brembos or the engine, however...

Everyone - try to adjust this setting first. If it's still noticeable, then you may need to bring it to the dealer for an eval.
