  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My cruise control switch broke. I got a new switch, but I am not sure how to replace it. Anyone have replacement instructions?

I believe that the steering wheel and air bag module must be removed to access the cruise control switch assembly that includes the clock spring.

I hope this help.:)

Thank you very much!! I actually bought a new steering wheel with the switches on eBay for $90. So, I could just swap the steering wheels. But, this looks a little more difficult than I want to try. Hopefully, I can find someone to swap the steering wheels for a reasonable price.

No problem. I am planning on changing out my light and wiper controls, but I really do not want to tear my steering wheel apart to do it just yet. However, the job does not seem too hard to be honest.

The most important thing is first disconnect the negative battery terminal for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the air bag system is not charged before starting the tear down..

Let me know how you do. Do you need a special tool like a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel?

Do you have a shop manual?
