If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Elected to go with 3M Crystalline 50% tint. Probably could have gone even darker but (1) I wanted a consistent tint shade all the way around and (2) even this isn't legal on the driver's side in WI and I never have much luck with the law as it is.

VERY happy with how it came out.

My tint shop also threw the mud flaps on and put my rear bumper protection film on. Once it warms up I think I'll just change out the rear logo myself.

Still trying to decide on doing the front clip in Xpel clear protection - just didn't realize how pricey it was.

What can you do when it comes to tint and police but it looks good. Did you notice a color variation some people are reporting with 3m cryst? How much did they give you on the estimate for the clear bra by x?

I'm a tint guy so I love these threads. As a soon to be Genesis sedan owner, I like seeing these. I plan to go with 5 or 15%. I have 5% on all of my other cars and for my first family sedan, I want to keep it sick looking:) And no, cops dont care what we do here tint wise.

Sorry, I rather see the full picture.

I find that most tint jobs are too dark and distract from the colour of the car, with the exception of perhaps white.

I like that you went light on it so as not to take away from the nice paint.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. The first thing I'm noticing is not the car or the paint job or the wheels; it's the tint, it overpowers everything. Of course, my likes are not everyone's... so....

I knew someone was going to ask that now :) :) ....I *think* for the front end, mirrors, etc it was over $1000 - I think closer to $1200. I need to go back to them and get a specific quote - we were talking about so many options I got lost in the details.

I was thinking of doing the entire front, partial up the hood, mirrors and the rockers behind the front wheels....does that make sense?

Yep - absolutely agree with you! I see that and all I see is "tint" that's exactly what I was trying to avoid. Glad you like it!

...oh, and with regard to color variation - all of the tint on the car seems very consistent in terms of color. The Crystalline does have a color shade that is different than the 3M Color Stable for sure (and some folks don't like it) but I think it enhances the look if anything.

For sure I think it looks good. If I went legal I totally would have done the 35% with 3m, I think that is the lowest crystalline.

I'm not sure why you think that's ugly, I think it looks awesome but to each his own I guess.
Dude sarcasm lol, I think a dark quality tint makes anything look better even old 1980 honda civics. Like you said each his own

Very nice buddy, I would think this would be a good thread to start on these forums. I am eyeing a white or the Ibiza blue Genesis in the next month or two and would love to see the different tints on them! The Blue is a super rare color which I feel needs to be in the every day color selection!

Since your in Florida, I got my tint done at Super Dave's in Tallahassee, Florida

I had mine done at a local tint/audio shop in St. Cloud, did a great job on my 370z a few years ago. I plan to either pick 5% again or 15%. I have always tinted all of my cars dark, just have to bide my time now as the longer I can wait, the bigger the down payment and I have 2 months till our child is due.

I had from the front door and windshield forward and the rear bumper done with Xpel and it was one of the best investments I’ve made but as you said a costly one. The result is nothing short of amazing 4 trips from NY to Florida amongst other long drives and not a scratch anywhere in the front of the car. I wish I could have done the complete car like other people have.

The front end of these cars is a magnet for rock chips. Get it before it's too late.
