  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I want air conditioning, I either press the "A/C " button or I hit the "Auto" button. In either case the blue LED in the "A/C" light comes on to indicate that the compressor is on and cold air is on the way.

When I start the car and the temp setting is below the outside temperature, it seems like the A/C comes on all by itself without lighting the blue A/C LED. Also, if I've turned the system "OFF" altogether, but then turn the fan up, the compressor kicks in without lighting the blue A/C LED.

Without adjusting the temperature setting, it seems like the only way to disable the compressor and have the fan blow outside air is to shut the system off, turn on the fan, then toggle the A/C button twice (first turns on the LED, second shuts off the compressor).

Anyone else seeing this situation?

When in the "Auto" mode (which is where I keep it 95% of the time) my a/c light is never on. It does it's own thing ands gives my cold air when I need it and hot air when I need it. When I first bought the car. I found myself over-managing the HVAC system. Not any more.
