  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have curve alert enabled on my Genesis and have never been alerted to a curve. Does anyone know why?

Mine goes off when it's like a 20mph curve or slower.

Mine works but it only works when you have GPS activated for a trip.

Mine alerts regardless of navigation and it seems to coincide with curve, road signs. There's a spot on the way home from work that does it every day.

Mine works without navigation engaged. It is sporadic and for most driving, which is the same familiar everyday routes, annoying. I ended up turning it off and its only real usefulness may be when on unfamiliar roads, likely when nav is also enabled. Interesting concept on paper, minimal usability in practice.

On some of my favorite roads near the Blue ridge, it'd go hoarse!! :-)

Does it work differently on the Ultimate trim vs the other trim levels?

Mine works regardless if I have navigation activated or not. I'll have to pay attention to see if it only does it for curves that have the 20 mph sign though.

sounds like another redundent feature.. .curve alert ? these features can get dangerous because your driving train of thought can get too used driving ignorant.

nothing beats careful attentive driving.

I bet you are going to be ticked off when your car drives itself in a decade or so.

I will have to try it without NAV on to see if it works without it. Everytime it came on we were using the NAV system so I assumed it was tied to it. Thanks for the update.

You don't need to be navigating an active route to get the "Curve Ahead" notice. For example, you can have the radio screen up and still get the voice notification even without any active route in Navigation being followed (you'll also get the curve icon in the HUD).

I just never noticed the Curve alert before without having the NAV system running a route to a new POI. Just coincidental I guess.
