  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys

My leasing is ending next year and I'm looking for a new car. The G70 was on the top of my list until this morning when I started reading the horror stories of Genesis Customer service.

How is the "Genesis Experience" in Montreal? Is it like everyone else says? I read here in the forum an article saying the "service model" has been developed here in Canada, so I imagine it should look like a showroom fro Genesis, right?

Genesis only shows me 4 dealers nearby (St Laurent, DDO, Laval and Brossard). The other 3 are too far away (Ottavwa, Ville de Quebec and Magog). The only "not Hyundai", is Laval's "Boutique", which I'm not sure takes any service as it looks like a Showroom inside a mall. So the choices are reduced.

FYI, the most comfotable for me would be the Brossard one (Taschereau's Hyundai? they don't show their address), but I wouldn't mind going somewhere else

I would love to buy a Premium again (had a Mercedes in the early 2000s) but want the premium service along with the car. Otherwise I'd buy a Stingr or a Golf R and can have it serviced anywhere

Hi guys, any hints?

Just came back from a test drive... It will be hard not to buy this car

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
There have been a few Montréal owners on here but they may not visit often.

Mussonking and daring90 are Montréal owners and mention their service. Use search box top left for their posts

Thanks bro!

They both seem to have good experience here. These are very good news!

Just came to say that this has been my best customer experience ever. Did my test drive with the dude, we drove for almost one hour. No Haggling, no package pushing, no hidden fees...

I know Hyundai's side of the experience is still yet to be put to test, but so far, no regrets

Mostly US posters here but the Canadians have schooled us as to how the dealer model is different in the Great White North. Genesis Experience Manager (or something like that), delivery to you home, and lots of unattainable stuff for us. There is a cost, of course.
Photos would be nice.
J'adore le Montréal. Been there 20+ times. Wish I were there now. Early October is THE visit time for me. Nearly no tourists, great walking weather, taste of autumn, Atwater and Jean Talon Market and all the rest. (wistful sigh).

My manager told me the car is in Toronto, so it wouldn't take long to arrive. In the meanwhile here are some pictures of the demo

Over in the Toronto area the Nav Bhatia dealerships have glitzy Genesis showrooms and the cars are serviced elsewhere, I recall, at his Hyundai dealerships. Perhaps the Montreal dealers have similar setups.

My manager told me that their Hyundai service center is under the same group and there's always at least one dedicated Genesis tech. But I was in the middle of the test drive and the guy was trying to sell me the car, so I took it with a grain of salt.

I am in the GTA - and have my car serviced by Nav Bhatia's Mississauga Hyundai dealership. They have a separate Genesis service writer, and I have no complaints with their workmanship. Prices are exactly what you would expect from any car dealer of any brand in any country -- silly.

But all that means is that you must keep them and yourself on your toes and be sure to question, prod, etc.

Overall, I am a happy boy.

My dealer in North Carolina is a Hyundai franchise and Genesis is contained within. There is one Genesis tech whom the service manager introduced me to. He likely does Hyundai also.
There is another larger dealer in town and their parts manager told me they have three trained Genesis techs and anyone will do standard maintenance-oil, filters, tires, alignment and so on. Techs for Genesis are for warranty repairs not standard service.
The smaller dealer is far better experience (so far).

Great. The main point I was making is that servicing is done in Bhatia’s Hyundai garage.

Which is exactly what I confirmed.

There is clearly not sufficient volume in Genesis sales to warrant a separate facility. I am satisfied with the service I get through the existing arrangement.

Great. You are confirming what I told Bhatia about 2 years ago. I told him to put up a sign on his joint Hyundai and Genesis service garages that only says “Service.” If only USA dealers were as smart. Two separate Sales buildings - one Service shop. It’s a no-brainer.
