  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had to go into Settings a few days ago to let the car know that I was now in Daylight Savings time. Since we can't actually move the clocks forward or backward ourselves, I am wondering, where do the analog and digital clocks get their time signals? Is it from the GPS? or is it from BlueLink?

I believe that you can choose where to get the time source from. It is in the same menu as turning on/off the Daylight Savings time.

It uses gps time which is a HUGE plus because gps time is the absolute most accurate time you can get. Even over NIST radio atomic time, which will lag as much as a minute because the signal has no correction like gps does.

BUT it's too dumb to figure out if your location has DST. Also, it doesnt even have a date or calendar in the car's displays, which my 10 year old car had and the current sonata has :( I dont even know what to say about that. It is dumb.

My car shows the date, next to the time, in my car.

We went on a trip a couple of months ago and went through 2 time zones. As we were going on the Interstate where they have signs telling you you're entering another time zone the clock changed right at the sign, Impressive.

I had to check a box in the menu to use GPS. Until then, my clock was wrong by an hour. You'd think it would default to GPS.

Software version? I'll recheck the options but im 99% sure mine doesnt do it

I checked my clock and all available settings this morning. No option to show date.

I have the ultimate package. There is an explanation of the clock settings on page 142 of the DIS manual.

You have to uncheck the GPS time and then select Time Settings directly below to set the clock manually. When you select Time Settings, it will bring up a screen allowing you to set the time and date. Other selections available are time zone, clock type (for screen saver) and 12H/24H mode.
