  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone tell me what this object on my dashboard is? Is it part of the Lexicon sound system or what?

I thought it was the temperature sensor for the AC unit?

It's the temperature sensor for the heating and a/c unit. Virtually every single car made that has an automatic feature in the climate control system has a similar looking small "vent" type apparatus. In some cars, it's just a series of small holes in the dash, and in other cars, such as the Genesis, it has its own grate/vent type thing.

Sorry, I can't think of any other grammatically correct words to use!

Thanks, that's a good enough explanation for me. And now that you mention it, I recall that my prior car (2004 Mercury Sable LS) had a couple of small slots on the center console near the A/C controls. I always wondered what they were also.

Sure it's not a camera checking out your anatomy to set the A/C temp? :D
