Dead Battery/locked doors

If the battery is dead and the doors are locked how do you get into the car, open the hood etc?

Use the key provided in your fob to open the drivers door.

Or... open the trunk with the key (inside the fob... press the small silver button on the fob and pull black cover off) ...
into the key slot (look underneath... left side next to the license plate light)... insert fully and turn 90 degrees to pop the trunk open...
where the battery is located to jump (right side... under the spare tire cover)... add jumper cables.

Best thing is to read and study the manuals carefully which will reduce your frustration when things happen like a dead battery, flat tire etc. I remeber a post where someone could not get the gas tank door open when the button in the car did not work, they did not know about the pull handle in the trunk.

The manual advises not to jump the battery from the trunk, only use the posts under the hood.

Theoretically... use the shortest distance between battery and starter... hence the contacts under the hood... shorter distance/least resistance.
However those leads do come from the trunk's battery, not an onboard second auxiliary power source.

Would only prove if there is higher resistance/corrosion on the original battery leads/contacts going back to the trunk.

On my 2015 3.8 sedan you can pop off the plastic end cap at the end of the door handle and there is a manual lock you can use the key from the fob to open the door
