  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Folks

I have been putting off my self install of my remote start for over a year since the wiring is a nightmare.
WELL, I think I have found a solution. BestBuy has a CompuStar 2way Remote start (not a full security system since our car does have one) with BYPASS (tricks the computer that the key is in the car) + drone to talk to your phone (for extra) + TILT sensor. It is only $250. I think that is all we would need. Since the BYPASS is and can be one of the most $$ parts. Again, the install takes a long time in our cars.
So if is thinking of RS for the Genny since the weather is changing, I think Bestbuy's deal is a VERY good one.

Have you accomplished this yet? Just curious the local shops around here are quoting 800-1200$ because of this push button start.. I've done remote start installs before on a few american cars but cant find any information or a write up of someone doing it to a Gen..

No I have not had the time yet. It is a TEDIUS install. I have the wiring if you need it. You need prob 5 hours in my opinion. There is one bypass that seems to work well with all Hyundais.
When I get a WHOLE day I will knock it out. IF NOT, Bestbuy may be the best bet. less of a headache and if it screws up they are responsible.
