  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What would you do if a Genesis dealership has your car for mechanical work and doesn’t tell you they caused a collision while the car was in their possession? Then, they send it back with damage shown in photos and an engine that is overheating?

Get an attorney, then ask for a meeting with the dealership management team.

obviously they impacted something with the front end. it is possible that the lot jockey did this and didn't tell anyone about it, hoping it would go unnoticed until you left the lot. once that happens, there's not much you can do since that could have happened while in your possession.

step #1, before getting an attorney as Dad2Two suggests, is to review the concerns (damage and overheating) with dealership service management. give them a chance to make it right. if they jerk you around, then escalate.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Name the dealership here so everyone knows who they are. Management may not have known about this, but some turd there does and was dishonest and did not own up to their mistake. I would not choose to use a dealership like that. Sort of like the dealer who’s tech went joy riding and thrashed another members G70 but was too stupid to realize he was being recorded the whole time. Dealers need to know what their employees are up to.

This happened while the car was in their possession. My insurance company went and took photos; they hid my car from me when I drove up to see it because they were ignoring my calls. They claimed it went into drive from park. A field engineer went out and they also ignored his voicemails. So, he showed up unannounced and they said the car couldn’t be seen as it was dismantled. I haven’t had my car for over 8 months. 😭

As mentioned, get an attorney....

umm, ok. sounds like there's quite the story here and you're dealing with some shady characters. this is far more protracted than some dealer flunky bumping into a bollard and not telling anyone, etc. time to lawyer up to at least get things moving in your favour.

seems like the dealer has made far more of an issue out of something innocuous. sh!t happens, but respond appropriately and things can be resolved reasonably amicably. they seem to have taken the other path...

We had a similar thing happen at a Goodyear service center. We contacted the state attorney general. He wrote a letter to the company and we got a quick and appropriate resolution.

That's completely inexcusable and it certainly sounds like the service dept. is trying to hose you. You can try filing a case with GMA, New Message | MyGenesis , but from my experience, they seem pretty helpless. Maybe you'll have better luck. Unfortunately, it sure sounds like it's time to have an attorney get after them.

You might want to pass this GMA contact on to the attorney:

Peter Donnellan
Executive Director, Aftersales, Customer Satisfaction, and Training
10550 Talbert Ave.
Fountain Valley, CA 92708
(714)-965-3000

Please let us know the dealership name and location as Pulsar suggested. This is another example of GMA marketing "The Genesis Experience" while allowing dealers to do as they please. Genesis is dreadfully shy of matching Lexus service.

Best of Luck.
