  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone here have access to the dealership history for a car? I wanted to know could a 2nd owner request a report from a dealership that has the complete history of my car for any service done at any Hyundai dealership? I know that some reorts may have the previous owner's info; I don't want that. Just want to know if there is a type of report that can show the complete service/maintenance record from any dealership without having previous owner info? Would a dealership give me that report?

they should be able to give you all the history service with the vin number.

I think this may only be true if the only that one dealer did all of the service.
I usually stick with one dealer, but I had to bring my '13 Azera to a couple of different dealers for oil changes, and the dealers only had visibility to their own service records. They could not see that another dealer had performed an oil change for example.

It seems like Hyundai should have a complete record of any service performed by their dealers, that any authorized dealer could access.

Yes they can, but they do not have to. Mine did.

Before my '12 purchase I brought my dealer the VIN. The car was on another dealer's lot, so did not impact the prior private owner's sale (who was also a customer at the same dealer).

So ask nicely and you may get lucky. I did.

Ok will try it. Was the report complete from any dealership that worked on the car?
