Dealer LYING TO ME??

So I have my car set. they were giving me the price of $38800 +TTYL all ready to go. I told them I saw the costco offer which reduces the price to around 37800+ tax title l.. so they were like fax us the document I did they call me back saying sorry the car is sold.

Wow, maybe there was another customer willing to pay higher than your asking price and decided to sell it to him/her instead.
If you've already placed a deposit on it, they shouldn't have done that.
Sucks...
Try another dealer around your area.
I contacted 3 dealers and talked numbers before buying mine.
It always gives you the leverage when negotiating.

Looks like they found a buyer at 38,800 - If you were already to go at 38,800 and then balked at the price, they were free to sell the car to someone else. I don't blame the dealer at all in this circumstance.

Why not just buy the car at Costco?
