  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

...is not so hot.
My dealership (Genesis of Cocoa) called Thursday to schedule my 12-month service - they wanted to know when I'd like to bring it in. I requested the valet service, and was told they couldn't provide it currently due to COVID-19 problems.
I drove it in Friday, 20 minutes before the scheduled time. I was not offered a loaner. The car sat on the lot for an hour before going into the bay, and was done another two hours later (just oil change, tire rotation, and filters changed). Dedicated Genesis technician? They were unaware of staggered wheel sizes and tire pressure requirements.
Of course, it's also a Hyundai store, and there wasn't a single Genesis on the lot. A year ago they had more than 20. They do have hundreds of new Sonatas, Elantras, even Palisades and a variety of strange little things I'd never heard of.
My salesman told me they don't know when they'd see a new Genesis, due to production delays (what about all those new Hyundais?). And he said they couldn't provide valet service because their driver quit when relegated to janitorial duties. (Unemployment in this tourism-dependent area is far beyond record levels; I'll bet a thousand locals would love that job.)
This the third Genny and fifth Hyundai I've bought from them. I'm no faceless stranger to them, or am I?
A week earlier, my Jag dealer had no problem providing valet service for my routine maintenance appointment.
This pretty much solves my "new F Pace, or GV80/70" question. You can say all you want about great car outweighing lousy dealerships; I used to agree.

My guess is that they will no longer sell Genesis, but need to honor the service warranty of the ones they sold. Seems Genesis corporate has tightened down on the dealership requirements and more are backing out. It seems that way based on what I've read on this forum. It's really too bad to see this happen.

That could well be in the back of somebody's mind. The Cocoa dealer has a distinct Genesis salesman, plus a designated service writer and technicians, but currently no cars, while they had dozens last year. Same ownership has another store in Melbourne 20 miles from it, which has 6 cars. Incidentally, three Orlando dealerships 40 miles away have 3, 21, and 13 new cars respectively.
