  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Would anyone know if the "H" on the trunk has holes and pins anchoring it or just adhesive?
Thanks

Search this forum for "Genesis Re-badging: The Movie". It will show you everything you need to know.

Thanks much, yep, there are holes. However, I'd strongly recommend using fishing line, monofiliment, about 30 lb. test. Also braided fishing line is thinner. No chance of scratching the paint.

I just rebadged the trunk lid using the 30lb. fishing line, and can vouch for it's ease of getting the old 'flying H' logo off.

Pretty easy job, looks great when done.

Dental Floss and a heat gun worked great for me. It took about 5 minutes to get the logo and adhesive off of the car.

There are 2 holes in the trunk under the "H" badge, but there are no pins to go into the holes, so it is just adhesive. The replacement wings from Korea has 2 pins that fit the holes exactly (but also with adhesive). The pins/holes are really just for allignment, and don't really hold the new badge on.

I used a heat gun (be very careful with such a tool because it is much hotter than a hair dryer) and a plastic putty knife. If you have an extra person to help you, the dental floss works great (one person on the heater and the other person with two hands on the dental floss), but with one person, you can operate the heater and the putty knife by yourself.
