  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
I just found out about this forum and figured it is very helpful. I just switched to Genesis 2015 from Sonata, the car is amazing and I am loving it. My warranty is about to be over in like 2 months and I found this delayed throttle issue. When I am turning left on a green signal from a full stop or right on the red light, I feel the delayed response in the acceleration of the car which is scary. I tried it in Normal mode from Eco mode and still facing the issue. With my sonata, I've never felt this delayed response even in eco mode. Have anyone faced the same issue? It would be really helpful to know and then I can take it to the dealership before my warranty runs out. Thanks

Could be the stability control system cutting throttle to ensure that you can turn safely without losing control.:

You got to love how newer cars protect us drivers from ourselves, even when making simple turns.:)

Good point. He says he did not have that with his Sonata, but I did. There was a left turn I made very day and if I went sharp and fast, it would bog down a bit. I figured it was more pronounced because it was FWD.

I also noticed that the stabilty system kicks in when I try to speed through turns at high speeds if the turn is very sharp when I have the car in sport mode with the Sprint Booster engaged. I feel a noticeable reduction in power as the car try to control my high G cornering maneuver. The stability/traction control system in the Genesis is very good and quick to act.:)

Yes, you guys could be right. I've checked this with couple of my friends and i had mixed answers so i'm probably thinking of taking it to dealership as i have warranty left anyway and let's see what they say. Thank you for your replies, really appreciate it.

Yep, it's the stability control. It's really bad on my 2012 4.6 when trying to accelerate hard when turning onto a street. The engine power just quits until the lateral Gs abate.

I think it was Stability control as i tried doing the sudden acceleration with "ESC" off and the issue did not happen so i guess that was it. Thank you for your responses.

Keep in mind that the Stability control has two levels of "off" (at least mine does). Hold the switch down and you will hear one sound and a message on the dash indicating it's off, but continue to hold the switch down and a second sound and another message will show confirming that the entire system is disabled.

Enjoy!

Oh! I did not know that. Good to know. I'll try. Thanks a lot.
