Delete Fingerprint Authentication

I have followed the instructions 3 times to delete fingerprint authentication. Each time it ends with "Cannot Delete Fingerprint".
Can I fix this w/o taking it back to the dealer as a defective item for them to fix?

I have same issue. 2023 GV70 Advanced and I setup fingerprint before realizing its completely useless!

I tried at least five times with the same outcome "cannot delete fingerprint".

Any suggestions ? Do I need to take it to the service.
 
Considering you need both smart keys in the car to set up the fingerprint, trying having both keys in the car when you try deleting it.

Yup. Tried both. Single key and both keys.

Same result 🙄
 
I had that issue after the rogue OTA reset signal last June. I ended up with a new head unit fitted last month and not adding a fingerprint this time !

Me too. The finger print reader hardly ever works first time, either for me or for my wife. Like you, unable to delete old finger print, neither could my dealer. Manual not clear and doesn’t help. Not acceptable on what’s supposed to be an up-market vehicle.

I have the same issue mine is 2024 model. Writing to the Genesis is useless. I willl go back to the salesperson.
 
Any update on this issue? The fingerprint reader on this 2024 GV70 is maybe the worst! I cleaned the sensor and also my fingertip but to no avail. Its a major hassle every start of the GV70. Very annoying! I was wondering if Genesis has a solution to this. I just want to delete the fingerprint profile.

Not only couldn't I (or the dealer) delete the stored fingerprints, but couldn't delete the 'User Profile'. Clearly there's a programming fault in the 'Head Unit' software, OR there's manufacturing fault in the Head Unit. At the recommendation of the dealer, the fingerprint module was (supposedly!) replaced. This somehow allowed the Head Unit to be re-set to initial factory conditions. However,when a newfinger print was stored, nothing appears to have been changed.
Probably needs the Head Unit to be replaced.
How does one get Hyundai/Genesis to address this problem? I suspect they want to continue ignoring this problem, hoping, that we will 'go away'! How do I sell a defective vehicle less than 4 months old?

Just noticed this issue on my 22 GV70 with the premium head unit and sound. Super annoying I’m calling Genesis about this today. For a 65k car this issue is ridiculous, I’ve got a Santa Cruz also and the updates for that are a night and day difference compared to Genesis. Best part is the premium radio in the Santa Cruz isn’t that different from the GV70 just missing a few features(mainly the ones that cause headaches.
