  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I don't think there is any way to delete the contact in the car unit. You need to delete the contact from your phone and re-download your phonebook.

I think he's referring to addresses in the navi system, not the phone book. I

I haven't used the navi address book much, but this is what the DIS manual has to say:

Deleting a destination in a category except of Previous Destinations and Address List:

In the Navigation main menu, select the menu item Edit Addr. Book.
The Address Book editing menu appears.
In the Address Book editing menu, highlight one of the menu items Home, Work, Favorite Point 1, Favorite Point 2, Favorite Point 3 or Favorite Point 4.
Push the controller . The Options menu appears.
Showing the highlighted destination in the map
In the Options menu, select the menu item Show on Map.
In the Options menu, select the menu item Delete.
You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to delete the destination.
Select Yes or No.

The destination will be deleted or retained, depending on the answer selected.

From your original post, it looks like you may have tried this, however. I'll give it a shot when I'm in my car today and see how it works.

OK - I do everything as you say except when I get to the Address Book Editing Menu, I go to Addres List because the addresses are not set to Favorite Points. Then I push the controller and there are NO options showing. The only items showing is the address 004, address 003 etc. and when I use the Controller to the right, it maps it out!
So - this is where my problem lies....

I got a chance to try this earlier today. This is what I recall:

In Edit Address Book mode, the display showed the "built in" addresses (Home, Work, Fav 1, Fav 2, etc.) At the bottom of the display was the entry "Address List." Choosing that brought up a list of destinations that I had previously entered. When I highlighted one of those and moved the DIS controller to the right, I saw a delete option. However, when I pressed the DIS controller, it brought up a screen that let me edit the destination information. (Of course, that list won't appear if you've never entered a destination manually. As well, that list may be different from the list of previous destinations.)

Hope this helps.

If your age is showing, so is mine. I have a 2010 touch screen nav (non Tech). I can't figure out how to delete an address from the address book either. I have a blank address appearing in one of my lists, and I can't find a way to edit it or delete it. The menus and options in the non-DIS nav are apparently different from the DIS version, but the quirks appear to be similar.

I assumed that you have the non-touchscreen version because you mentioned pushing the controller as opposed to touching the screen, so it should work like mine. I agree that a visit to a dealer would be a good next step. Hope it works out for you.

I, too, would like to know how to delete unwanted destinations from my address book...and also how to delete favorite radio station settings that are no longer my favorites. In some cases I accidentally entered the same address and same radio station two or three times!

Depending on the year and option level, you should be able to delete addresses in the Navi. I have deleted addresses on my 2012 4.6.

You can not delete favorite radio stations, all you can do is replace one station with another. The favorites are placeholders and are always there. IIRC even if you do a complete reset of the radio, all the favorite slots will show 88.0 or the lowest freq. depending on band AM/FM.

How do I edit an address in 2009 dis navigation? I misplaced my owners manual and have to change an address in my navigation. Please help.
