  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well after a long weekend up in ME with the girlfriend and the dog (American Bulldog) needless to say the car is trashed inside. Dog hair everywhere, wrappers and dirt along with spits of coffee just to name a few...

I took her to the wash house today and spent a couple hours with her. Not a full detail but enough to get her back to very clean.

I can't get the windows streak free with the stuff I'm using. I went over and over the windshield with a dry rag (old while cotton tshirts) to get some of the streaks out but its not working.

What are you guys using or what can you recommend me to get the windows spotless and streak free. Anything off the counter at an auto store?

Was that your girlfriend, the dog, or your car?

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll check to find Stoners in the stores. Seems that they retail them everywhere...

Stoners Invisible Glass spray can.

I agree. Invisible Glass is available everywhere. Recommend using 2 micro fiber towels while cleaning. Use the first one to clean. Right after use the second one dry to go over the window again to wipe off the remaining product and to buff out the streaks. May have to do this a few times if your window is really dirty.

There is also a triangle micro fiber bonnet on a handle sold. Use this to get the inside lower corners.

You can find all of this at Walmart I believe.

Your window will be so clean, all you will see are the chips from rocks that you never knew were there.

The easiest (and cheapest) is simply to spray vinegar and wipe with a sheet of newspaper!

I don't really get the whole news paper thing. The last time I used news paper for other than reading it was to wipe my ass when traveling in Russia. Talk about culture shock!

Just spray on windows and wipe away with croupled up news paper?

If it leaves a brown streak we know what you last used it for.

The best way to clean windows is hot soapy water and apply with wash cloth and then use hand towel to wipe dry. Dish washing liquid is the best.

I exclusively use Stoners product to clean the windows. After I picked up Genny from the dealership, I've noticed that couple of the windows had pesty streak that couldn't be removed. I probably used just about every glass spray cleaner out there to clean the streak to no avail.

While waxing Genny with Liquid Glass, I experimented cleaning the two problem windows with Liquid Glass Pre Cleaner and lint free towels and guess what. The sreak is completely GONE. Now I just use the Stoner Glass Cleaner for all windows.

I've used a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol/water solution and a lint-free cloth; it works pretty well. I use newspapers not for actually wiping the windshield but for covering the dash and rear package shelf against the odd dribble.

As for your dog, you might want to try a full seat cover. I got one at Petsmart for about 40 bucks; it covers the entire rear seat and fastens around both rear seat headrests as well as the rear seat belts. That cover has helped to greatly cut down the amount of dog hair in the rear seat.
