  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,
Has anyone found/used a good diagnostic tool?
I am looking to buy one and wanted to see what works best for Genesis sedan 2015.

Feel free to comment, if you recommend or not recommend a particular one along with your experience.

Thank you.

I use the Torque Pro app ($5 one time purchase) on my Android phone with a cheapo ebay/amazon $6 ELM327 generic obd2 code reader for all my cars. There are similar apps available for Apple phones. It can do the basics for code scanning and clearing, as well as display live PIDs for watching fuel trims, timing advance, etc. real time. Pretty good bang for $11 bucks. But it does not have any manufacturer-specific modes for interrogating enhanced-DTCs, so it cannot communicate directly to any modules other than the ECU, and thus is not useful for advanced troubleshooting of other Genesis/Hyundai systems (ABS, airbag, smart-cruise, BCM, IPM, etc.).
