  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a Genesis Coupe (2 liter Turbo ) ,and only after all the salesman's negotiations and at completion of the sale (in the office) I was surprised to find that the Genesis emblems already on the car were to cost me another $895 -is this ethical or legal-or even standard company practice?

Only if they were made of silver. The trunk badge I bought for my 4.6 cost less than $10. Which emblems were changed? The only one that is expensive is the one for the steering wheel, assuming you don't want the one that sticks on.

Hello.. Welcome aboard. And thank you for signing up. Now before I comment, I must ask for you to please create new topics when starting a new conversation instead of replying to someone else's topic that has nothing to do with the one you're looking to discuss.

I moved this out of the "Hyundai Telling Dealers They Cannot Swap Genesis Emblems" discussion and started a new one called, "Did Hyundai Rip Me Off?" for you...

Now.. Would you mind scanning that document? I can bearly believe that a Hyundai dealership charged you $895.00 for "Genesis" badges that you didn't even ask for. I'm sure it's legal and since you signed for it, you're probably stuck with them. Is it ethical? Not as far as I'm concerned. You should have told them to either remove the badges, put the H's back on and subtract $895.00 from the invoice before you signed it.

Did you sign it? Drive it off the lot?
If so, I would return the car and say- order me up another one bud- without the emblems.

Hyundai did not rip you off, but the dealer did if you let the dealer get away with it

I just picked my 2.0t up two days ago, went to go sit in the "aftermarket" department, and was informed that it was $499.00 for the front and rear badge to be changed. Depending on location I could see something as outlandish as what they were trying to charge you.

Same, here, I made sure to mention the emblems before I finalized the deal. Its good to do your research and deal for the car that you want ahead of time. I got really specific with the sales guy. I told him " I want a white 2.0 T R-spec with the 19in wheels black wing emblems. Even though the R-Spec comes standard with 19in wheels and red interior, I still mentioned it.
