  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Didn't know 300c faster than 4.6....

As stated in the article the 300 looks 10 years old. I like the 300 but the G, even the 1G has it beat in appearance by a long shot. 2G absolutely destroys the 300 in appearance.

Not quicker 45 to 65 and 1/4 mile the G is faster at finish by 2mph.

I had a rental, drove from MD to NY, the car was nice but its definitively firmer than my 2009 gen

It is quicker 0-60 for the sole reason of having tons of torque. It has more torque than the r-spec too. I'd say 5.5sec is actually slow for that amount of torque. Maybe it is a lot heavier than the G. Keep in mind that when you pass let's say 80 the hp comes into play and both the 4.6 and 5.0 genesis would smoke the 300C.

Ya I hear ya. By no means would I ever purchase the 300c over the genny as I can't stand the way the 300c looks. Before reading this though, if I was at a light next to a 300c I wouldn't have given a second thought to smoking it if I chose.

Didn't expect this. Had no idea the 300c was quicker. Reviewer also mentions his distaste like most of us for the genny's electrical nannies.

That's a pretty slow time for the 4.6. The 12-14 V6 has been timed quicker than that, but it's always hard to tell who uses the 1ft roll-out and what type of weather related corrections are being be made.

With the exception of Edmund's, which doesn't use a roll-out and must hire a geriatric to perform its acceleration tests, the 4.6 should be low to low-mid 5's.

Those old school "Hemi" OHV's tend to make torque at a lower RPM, whereas Hyundai's newer engines are a bit peakier, comparatively.. Of course, the OHV designs need a much larger displacement to make equivalent power.

Oh, and the Genesis isn't built on a has-been Mercedes chassis. ;)

Also, the Genesis doesn't start to fall apart before the shiny wears off.
