  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi

This may have been asked before but I couldn't find it with a search.

There is wide variation in loudness between different sound sources for the same volume setting. It's annoying when answering the phone etc.

I'm aware that this is a function of the dB of the source material but it also seems that it is also a function of the source. Despite reading the manual I don't see any mechanism of altering the attenuation of any one source so that I can balance them somewhat.

Thanks

i don't know of any car or audio system that can compensate for the loudness of different recordings or sources.
even switching between different XM stations, you find great variation in the loudness.

Figured as much.
Thank you.
