  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
I own a 2011 Genesis 4.6 sedan. Love the car, but, even with "traction control" and judicious use of the manual control for the automatic transmission (pulling out--slipping out??--in second, for example), it is crappy at best in snow. I find it hard to believe that Hyundai would build a car of this caliber with rear wheel drive and no mechanical limited slip differential, and, had I been smart enough to check before the purchase and to not just assume that was so equipped, I would not have chosen it.

I know that the 5.0 R-Spec of that generation was equipped with a mechanical limited slip differential, but I am much more interested in the next generation, specifically the 2016 5.0 V-8 sedan. I can find nothing on the internet that refers to a mechanical limited slip rear for the 2015-2016 generation.....can anyone help to clear up my question?

Thank you!

You can get AWD or a peg leg, no other options.
