Now that I have my vehicle back, I am trying to finish getting things set up and am running into issues with the digital Key. I downloaded the app, but get an error about it needing to be activated. I can't find anywhere to do an activation though or find anywhere online talking about it.

I gwt the same thing. I have had my 2023 GV80 sine 20 May. We may need to wait for our physical digital key. Not really sure. Let me know if you find out anything.

There is no physical part to the digital key. Has your Dealer done his part to record your email when you bought the car?

Yes. Everything else on the connected service works fine. Genesis Customer Care is the one that said I should receive a digital key card in the mail 6-8 weeks after buying the vehicle.
 
I was given a keycard when I took delivery. I’ll take a look at it today.

You will receive a Key Card. That's a credit card thing that uses RF signal on the door handle to unlock/lock your car and when placed on the wireless charge pad, to start the car. It's separate of the Digital App. In the 2021 GV80 manual they are listed as Digital Key (Card Key) and Digital Key (Smart Phone), Pg 5-12 through 5-22.
 
I understand how the app works. Just not sure why I cannot get the digital key to work yet. I already have a ticket in on this, but I will be calling Genesis again since it has been a while. I will also check with my dealer about registration.

If you have an iPhone----forget about it; it will NOT work. (Don't forget, South Korea is Samsung territory!)
 
Nope. Have a Samsung S22 Ultra.
 
The keycard I was given appears to work fine, but does not help with the issue with the digital key. I emailed Genesis to see if they had anything to say about it..

Is “Digital Key” the same thing as the NFC Card? If it is, I phoned Genesis who told me it would arrive by USPS in a few weeks. When it did arrive, I followed the enclosed instructions. Took all of two minutes to program.
To Unlock or Lock door, hold NFC card against outside door handle for TWO seconds. Door will unlock or lock. To start car, place NFC Card in the wireless phone charger slot. Press AND HOLD Start/Stop button for TWO seconds. Car starts. I then always IMMEDIATELY put NFC card in my shirt pocket to prevent me from forgetting NFC card in car when I get out.

I got them to tell me exactly where on mygenesis the digital Key stuff should be, and it is not there. Waiting to hear back and will update when I do.

I have had a similar exchange with Genesis and have same issue (no such option in my mygenesis account to enable the Digital Key). Have you gotten actual resolution?

No! At this point, support seems to be ignoring me.. The last exchange I had with them, I got an update to the ticket saying they had tried calling me but could not reach me and that I needed to call in due to the nature of the ticket, but I had no missed calls. I called in and the guy tried walking me through setup but when i stopped him and said there is no digital key section within account of mygenesis he said he couldn't help me and the original person working my ticket would be in touch. I asked for an update earlier this week and have not gotten one.

Sounds similar to what I've been told. Here was the reply I get a few days ago:

Thank you for contacting Genesis Customer Care. Given the concerns you've been experiencing, we will be submitting a ticket to our engineers regarding your inability to enroll in our Genesis Digital Key. Upon proper research, we will be contacting you via telephone to troubleshoot. Typically, these can take anywhere from 7-10 business days to complete.

The Genesis Digital Key system allows you to unlock and start your vehicle using your Android smartphone. Genesis Digital Key is available for the first time in the 2021 Genesis G80 and Genesis GV80. If your Genesis is equipped with Digital Key, this article will take you through the steps to set up and start using the system.

Here are the things you need to have in order to set up Genesis Digital Key:
  • A compatible Android smartphone. Currently, only Android phones are compatible with the Digital Key system. The phone must meet the following requirements:
    • Android operating system version 7.0 or newer
    • Bluetooth (BLE) 4.0 or newer
 
OK, so what is your point for posting this? I do have an android phone and it is on Android 12. BLE is no issue. The issue is the Genesis site.
 
Did you activate the digital key option on your account? Genesis Owners Homepage | MyGenesis

After you login, the options "burger" on top right should open a right side panel. You should see your car, choose option "Manage Vehicles." Then go to Data & Privacy tab, there you will find "Genesis Digital Key" toggle option. Enabling that should allow you to login into the Digital Key app, set up your phone with your car, etc. I highly recommend to disable all adblockers during this, the Genesis website is terrible and will break because of it. I had a lot of issues due to my DNS sinkhole (another adblocker system).

I rarely ever take my key with me and usually just use my phone to drive. The only thing that doesn't work well without the fob is remote parking feature.
