  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

my last oil change @ the dealer they broke the dip stick(in oil pan)my resent oil change @the dealer they replaced the dip stick I checked the oil @ pick up time and it showed @ lower marking on dip stick the dealer told me the dip stick was redesigned and the solution was to add more oil to bring it to right level( I was suspicious of that, why din't the mechanic do that when he changed the oil)can anyone out there with the same genesis 2016 6 cylinder sedan measure the original dip stick from bottom of dip stick to bottom of beginning of handle, and again from bottom of dip stick to top of handle. thank you

I purchased a newer dip stick(2017+ G80 5.0) for my 2015 5.0 V8 to avoid the common dipstick tip breaking issue with the 2015-2016 model. However the length of the original dipstick and the newer dipstick seems to be the same for the 5.0 models. Not sure if the same is true for the 3.8 model.

The newer dipstick tip only seems to be more flexible than my original dipstick tip, so hopefully less prone to breaking.

Newer dipstick on top and older dip stick on the bottom

I looked up the part number for my 2015 3.8. 26611-3CKA0
Do you have the number of the new dipstick shown in the picture?

I should have checked the 5.0 part before I posted.
Different part number. Probably not interchangeable.

Have to say this is the first time I’ve seen a dipstick with a plastic tip, can anyone actually say what the point of this is?

Very good question! I wish Someone had an answer to that! Thed problem seems to be fairly common - and what happens to the broken off part?
