  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello folks, did someone knows how to get into the DIS engineering mode on 2015-16 Genesis?

Cmon guys, does someone knows ? :)

DIS means Driver Information System. To the OP, to my knowledge, this information has not been made public. When I had my car in to have the head-unit replaced, the tech had to make a change to my car to have the backup camera configured correctly for my car. When he did this, he attached a tablet running special Hyundai software to the OBD port, and there were hundreds (if not thousands) of things he could adjust. What I'm getting at is, I'm not so sure the engineering menu exists anymore, and if it does, it didn't seem the preferred way of making adjustments.

I saw on a post here about the engineering mode. There were the features of the car showed as cameras, Electronic Controlled Suspension and etc.
I was wandering if I can check this menu and to reset some of the systems of my car, especially the Heads-up Display
The car is 2015-16 European Genesis

Here I was talking about that post: http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=13684
This inspires me to find how to access the Engineering mode on the G2

"Dealer mode" (engineering mode lite) can be accessed by:
Go to the home screen.Click "Settings", Scroll to the bottom and click "System Info", Tap and hold on the circle in the center of the menus (the one with the arrows on it).
This is a very scaled down subset of the full engineering mode, but I haven't yet found a way in the UI to access that.
Each of the available functions is protected by a PIN code. Here are pin codes (including some for functions that aren't visible):
software: 1358
hardware: 4763
dynamics: 0716
update: 4590
logsetting: 4259
autotest: 4260
password: 0428
variant: 6172
diagnosis: 5173
mapcaremode: 3649

Can someone clarify what we can control trough this Dealer Menu?
I checked some boxes, uncheck some boxes in the "Variant menu" - nothing changes...

Didn't you just post the access sequence? If you don't know what it does, I would not be clicking anything. Accessing and changing things in engineering mode on these cars should be done only after you know exactly what it does and the consequences. There is a reason it is not a customer documented access area.

That's why Im asking :)
I wondered if someone who is working for a dealership if he can clarify the things about that Dealer menu and what can be changed there and how.
The two things I have done is only to uncheck the HUD in the "Variant menu" and to check it again, but nothing changed. The HUD continues to be active as a menu in the car options, when I unchecked it.
The second thing was to do Factory Reset from the Diagnostics menu, and this completely reset the DIS system config. When I done the Factory Reset the Options in the "Variant menu" there are less checked boxes than in the variant before, but the car is working as usual and all the options are working.

My guess is your next trip to the dealer for service they will know you tampered with it and your vehicles warranty will then be null and void.

I don't think the warranty will be void ...
Today I was in the dealership for my issues with the Head-up Display. The car was inspected and they will remove the dash to check HUD connectivity. Dealer didn't tell anything about my experiments :)

Some experience from today: When I start the engine it seems that the turned off features were really turned off. For example the front camera and the 360 degree were unable to be started :) I get back to the Variant menu and turned them on. After that they started to work in some buggy mode and after system restart the system started to work fine as usual.

I was checking this out today and went into the LOG section. There was a button that said something like "send log" and I clicked it. I happened to have a usb drive inserted and it dumped a bunch of log files into a dated directory on the drive (took about 1 minute). The logs look to be from several subsystems of the nav unit, like contacts, GPS, CD reader, and scanning the USB drive for music, images, etc. Most looked like tech mumbo jumbo or binary data but to someone knowledgeable the files might reveal some interesting info about the unit's innards.

If you want to save settings you should click on 'send' button and restart radio with this small button near to place you insert a CD.
I seen this today, when LG service make a new setting for 360 view after changing head unit in my car. And if you click and hold "setup" + "menu" and " track ^" you acces to eng menu and on the right you have full eng menu option

Is it possible to get into the software and turn on a GPS speed indication on the NAV screen. Just asking. I appreciate it's a very long shot, but it's a bit annoying there is no GPS speed output. All my three speeds (speedo, digital and HUD) read exactly the same and up to 4 mph higher than GPS (Garmin measured).

Does anyone know what is 'iBox' in this menu? Eng mode > variant > system > iBox.
After changeing head unit my jukebox and usb are not working.

Does anyone if any of these "engineering" screens allows adjustment for the calculated average miles per gallon? My Genesis always calculates 1.8 to 2.0 mpg better than actual. It'd be nice to have the system calculating correctly.

Ditto... Same issue here

What are the codes for the full engineering mode?
