  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For some reason, my new Genesis (with Tech package) came with 16 stations preset for both FM1 and FM2. How do I delete these presets so I can add my own presets? I tried to add a new preset to one of the lists thinking that would overwrite one of the old preset stations. That did not work. Thank you ..

Tell us the exact steps that you followed and we can probably help you.

I had the same problem and was unable to delete presets. The only way I got around it was to overwrite a previously stored preset with the current station by highlighting the current preset, and then press and hold the controller until the station is stored in that preset. Eventually (if you have enough selections) all the old presets will be overwritten. :rolleyes:

What I want to know;

1. Is your car a brand new car or was it a Demo or Previously owned car? Why else would the presets be in there, unless the salesperson thought he was doing you a favor.

2. What year is your car? My 2009 has only AM and FM with each having about 16 stations. When on FM, if I punch the AM/FM button, it goes to AM, not to another FM like FM2.

I've driven 2 in addition to mine and all had 530 pre-set on AM. I don't remember what the FMs were.

OK, now I see what he is talking about. The AM "presets" of 530 is really a default frequency. If memory serves me correct, I think the FM "pre-sets" (default) is 87.7.

Just a couple days ago, I had to reset all my am/fm/xm settings as I had the P06 update done on my system. Easy. Just pick the frequency you want, push the DIS knob to the right and pick (now I forget the words, but something like ....) save this station. When the next window comes up, just pick which one of the 18 or so settings you want, then push the DIS knob. The frequency you chose will now be in the chosen number in the list.
(some of the above words may not be correct, but you will get the idea once you play with the system).
